THE OPENING LETTER
Kwadwo Owusu-Agyeman on Product Expansion, AI in Fintech, and Investing in African Startups
In this conversation, I sat down with KJ Owusu-Agyeman, a Country Lead at Paystack Ghana, to talk about life at the intersection of tech, finance, and expansion across Africa. KJ shared how his unique career journey, from coding to investment banking to fintech, shaped his approach to building products and breaking into new markets.
We dove into what it really takes to expand products across Africa's diverse markets, the misconceptions that trip up even the savviest teams, and how AI is transforming the very foundations of product management today.
Quick core memory: KJ and I have somehow spent more time hanging out outside Ghana than in it be it at conferences or random meetups across borders. That little anecdote? It’s a perfect metaphor for the expansive career path KJ has carved out for himself.
Here’s KJ’s take on building bridges between markets, disciplines, and people.🚀
